Our Services

Children and Teens

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends children visit an orthodontic specialist by age 7 to provide the most appropriate treatment to each patient at the most beneficial time.

When left untreated, many orthodontic problems get worse. Teeth may become harder to clean and maintain, which may contribute to tooth decay, gum disease, and even tooth loss. Poor tooth and jaw alignments (malocclusions) can contribute to uneven wear of your teeth, which may result in pain.

For adults, we offer full fixed orthodontic treatment or partial treatment to realign previous orthodontic relapse. We also work as part of a team approach with other specialists and general dentists to help damaged, missing or worn dentition.

Studies have shown a relationship between poor oral hygiene and overall general health especially with respect to heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Healthy teeth and gums will not only benefit your smile, but your entire well-being.

A. Poking Wire:
If you have a pokey wire, please disinfect a pair of nail clippers with rubbing alcohol and use them to cut the wire where it is poking. If you are unable to cut the wire with the clippers, dry the area thoroughly and apply a generous amount of wax or chewed sugarless gum to cushion the area.
B. Bracket Off:
If you have a broken bracket the bracket will spin freely on the wire. If the loose bracket is not bothering the lips, simply leaving the brace on the wire until your next appointment will not cause any harm. Applying wax to the broken bracket could provide temporary relief from a rubbing brace. If the loose brace is bothersome you can remove it from the wire by disinfecting a pair of tweezers and grabbing the elastic color tie and removing it from the braces, then the brace will fall freely from the wire. If you are unable to remove the bracket yourself please call our office for direction or to schedule an emergency appointment.
C. Trauma:
Any dental trauma should be immediately reported to Dr. Daniels or your general dentist at the time of the accident.
